Abstract

This study explores the dynamics of social integration in sustainable development within urban multicultural societies, employing a literature review methodology. The research synthesizes a wide range of scholarly literature to understand how social integration contributes to and is influenced by sustainable development practices in diverse urban settings. The focus is on identifying the mechanisms through which social integration occurs in multicultural urban societies and how these mechanisms support or hinder sustainable development goals. The study examines various theoretical frameworks and models that explain the interplay between social integration and sustainable development, highlighting the role of cultural diversity, social equity, and inclusive policies. Key themes such as social cohesion, economic disparity, environmental sustainability, and governance in urban multicultural contexts are analyzed. The findings reveal that effective social integration is crucial for achieving sustainable development in urban areas, particularly in addressing challenges related to social inequality, environmental degradation, and economic instability. The study also identifies gaps in current literature, particularly in the understanding of how multicultural dynamics influence sustainable development policies and practices. This research contributes to the discourse on urban sustainability by providing a comprehensive overview of the relationship between social integration and sustainable development, offering insights for policymakers and urban planners in fostering inclusive and sustainable urban environments.
